I'm a small female, so little bit heavy, but cuts great! Got a little warm while finishing up my husband's hair, but not too bad. I appreciate the thick, round cord and quiet motor.

Purchased this for my GF who is a hairstylist because she is REQUIRED to use Wahl at her new job. She used an Oster 76 at her old job. The motor is loud and vibrates your hand but if you're used to the magnetic motor then this is nothing new. The Oster uses a rotary motor so it's a lot smoother.
The motor would shut down every once in awhile after heavy use and she said it was quite embarrassing for her at work. I opened up the unit, realigned blades, and adjusted the little button on the side to move the blades and so far the motor hasn't stalled yet, but this isn't what I expect from the top of the line Wahl product. Also, The "Senior" logo has already rubbed off after about a week of use. Go with the Oster 76 if you are a pro.

Summary: "Very Disapointed"
I was looking to upgrade from the wahl designer and read great things about this wahl senior. I have 3 boys and myself to do hair cuts and was looking for something that ran cool. The wahl senior advertises that it runs cool but I did my hair first and within minutes it started getting warm. It took my 2-3 minutes top to trim my hair on the sides. I started with my oldest son and it just kept getting hotter and hotter. The back feels as though it is metal in appearance looks very nice but that metal sure does get HOT. It was to the point that we stopped. Not only for him but holding it was very uncoftorable. I finished him up..Only took 5 minutes from start to finish. Next was my middle son and he complained the whole time. My hand was getting hot and we had to stop after a few minutes into his hair as the blades and th back of the clippers was just to hot for both of us. Either I have a deffected one or these just are not what they advertise. I personanly think that the designer is better and I know it uses the same blades...
Buyer beware!!!! save your money and just go with the designer..
